The Start of Many Traditions
Christmas is right around the corner, meaning it's time to get festive! This will be Adora's first Christmas, our first Christmas as a little family. I'm very excited, and can't wait to start coming up with holiday traditions. I might continue some of my family traditions. I've never seen them as our traditions, but we definitely did these activities every year. One we would do was watch Hallmark Christmas movies. I've already started watching them this year!
Since Adora is young, a Hallmark movie won't be for her. So we will have to watch a kids movie like SING©! SING© is an animation about a Koala named Buster who owns a theater that needs restoration. So he starts a big singing competition to save his theater! The movie will release in theaters on December 21st 2016! So we will have to watch that with Adora!
Another tradition we did when I was younger was bake cookies! I remember helping my mom bake cookies with my sister. We would keep it simple, we never made them from scratch but my mom had Christmas shape cookie cutters so we would have Christmas tree or Santa shaped cookies. I plan on continuing this tradition, of course, we have to bake cookies for "Santa" or should I say, Tony. haha!
This year I will be making these delicious white chocolate Honeycomb® crunch cookies. They're very easy to make, no-bake, and super delicious! Here's what you will need and how to make them!
- 1/2 c of Honeycomb® cereal
- 3/4 c of white chocolate chips
- 1/2 c of milk chocolate chips
- 1/2 c of milk
- 3 tbs of peanut butter
This recipe takes about 10-15min. to make and you can make roughly 6-8 cookies!
Directions: Turn the stove to medium-high heat, fill a saucepan with water and sit on the stove to boil. Take the Honeycomb® cereal and crush them into smaller pieces and mix in the peanut butter. Then Get a pan and line it with aluminum foil or a cookie sheet and set it aside.
Grab a glass bowl and add the white chocolate chips and place it on top of the saucepan once the water is boiling. Let the chocolate melt, and stir in some milk to get a loose consistency. Once the chocolate has melted, take spoon fulls of chocolate and place them on the pan(these will be the base of the cookies). Then add the peanut butter and Honeycomb mixture on top of the base of the cookies. Top it off with the white chocolate.
Repeat the melting process with the milk chocolate, while the white chocolate hardens. Once the milk chocolate has melted take a fork and garnish the cookies with the milk chocolate. Set the cookies in the fridge for at least an hour before eating. Enjoy!
As you can see, this recipe is very easy and it doesn't have to be perfect. What are some holiday traditions you do with your family? Do you guys go to the movies or bake anything special? You guys actually have a chance to see the movie SING© for free by purchasing select Post Cereal Brands and entering into the SING Sweepstakes for a chance to win $100,000 grand prize and other great prizes like speakers and movie tickets! Thanks for reading!
XO Adore Donnie
